Expanding his network
Patrick Hejl ’09, a sophomore business major, spent his life in the small town of Abbott, Texas, graduating high school with just 22 people in his class. But within the business school and his involvement in the A&M gentleman’s society One Army, Hejl says he has found a home. “I thought it’d be a huge change coming to A&M,” Hejl says. “But this place feels like family. Now I can’t walk through the hallways without seeing at least three people I know.” Mentoring a group of freshmen as a Freshman Business Initiative peer leader has only helped Hejl add to his network of Aggie friends.
From top to bottom: Hejl waits for class to start in Wehner with friend Branden Johnson ’09; in his business law class; at home with girlfriend Tara Goode ’10; grabbing a lunch of Chick-Fil-A with friends in Sbisa’s Underground dining room; checking up on class Web sites in the West Campus Business Library.
