Steven Dawson and his wife Deanna, both 1980 graduates of Texas A&M University, have established a $300,000 endowed fellowship to support the research, teaching, services and professional development of a faculty member in the real estate program at Mays. Pace establishes business excellence fund Phillip Z. Pace '85 of Houston has established a $30,000 excellence fund for use at Mays. His gift creates the Phil and Linda Pace Excellence Fund, intended to support and enhance programs and opportunities in business. Potthoffs support veterans with scholarship Anne and Thomas E. Potthoff '72, of Fort Worth, have established a $100,000 endowed scholarship for full-time students with a grade-point ratio of 3.0 or higher at Mays. The scholarship is specifically intended for a veteran or a veteran's child majoring in business. McMahen establishes education fund for finance Craig R. McMahen of New York City has established a $100,000 endowed fund to enhance and support the teaching, research and curriculum activities of the Department of Finance at Texas A&M University's Mays Business School. His donation creates the Craig R. McMahen Fund for Excellence in Teaching and Research in Finance. Starnes establish learning endowment Robin '76 and Bob Starnes '72, of Austin, committed $100,000 to establish a learning endowment in support of faculty, students, facilities and technology at Mays. The Starnes' gift, which also funds a scholarship for an incoming freshman studying business, creates the Robin '76 and Bob Starnes '72 Learning Endowment. Byrds support Mays students with scholarship Valerie M. and James R. Byrd '57 have committed $100,000 to establish the Valerie Ryan Byrd Endowed Scholarship for qualified undergraduate students at Mays. Scholarship funds are intended for business students who are members of the Corps of Cadets and current recipients of a Regents' Scholarship. Preference is also given to graduates of high schools in Farmersville, Daingerfield and Newton, Texas, and Moreno Valley, New Mexico. Bolners establish business scholarship Rosalie R. and Clifton J. Bolner '49, of San Antonio, have committed $25,000 to create an endowed scholarship for students at Mays. Their gift forms the Rosalie R. and Clifton J. Bolner '49 and Family Endowed Scholarship in Business. Norcom supports faculty with professorshipDavid R. Norcom '73 of Dallas has committed $250,000 to support the teaching,
research, service and professional development activities of a Mays faculty
member. The gift will be matched with other sources from Mays to create a $500,000
quasi-endowment, the David R. Norcom '73 Endowed Professorship in Business. Nichols establish endowed professorshipRebecca Upham Nichols '74 and William S. Nichols III '74 of Houston have established an endowed professorship at Texas A&M University's Mays Business School. Their gift, which creates the Rebecca U. '74 and William S. Nichols III '74 Endowed Professorship, supports the teaching, research, service and professional development activities of a faculty member. Coxes support Mays facilities, students Barbara and Ralph Cox '53 have committed $100,000 to establish a learning endowment in support of faculty, students, facilities and technology at Mays Business School. Their gift creates the Barbara and Ralph Cox '53 Learning Endowment. Chambers establish endowed scholarship J. Robert Chambers '89 and Kimberly A. Chambers '91 , of Houston, have endowed a $60,000 scholarship fund that will support worthy students at Mays. The Chambers' gift creates the J. Robert Chambers '89 and Kimberly A. Chambers '91 President's Endowed Scholarship. Letbetters pledge $1 million to support faculty Paula and Steve Letbetter '70, of Houston, have committed $1 million to endow a chair in business at Mays Business School. Their gift creates the Paula and Steve Letbetter '70 Leadership Chair in Business, which supports the teaching, research, service and professional development of a Mays faculty member. Neely pledges $1 million to endow business chair L.C. "Chaz" Neely, Jr. '62 of San Antonio has committed $1 million to endow the Trisha and L.C. "Chaz" Neely, Jr. '62 Endowed Chair in Business. The gift will support the teaching, research, service and professional development of a faculty member at Mays Business School. Midway Companies establishes Moran Real Estate Excellence Fund Houston-based Midway Companies has seeded the newly created James A. Moran Real Estate Excellence Fund with a $100,000 endowment to Mays Business School. Former professor establishes business scholarship fund Accounting Professor Emeritus Charles W. Plum of Dallas has funded $130,000 in scholarships for students at Mays Business School. His gift forms the Charles W. Plum Endowed Scholarship Fund, established with proceeds from two charitable trusts. Eckels establish endowed professorship P.G. "Buck" Eckels '52 and Sandra Eckels of Houston have committed an estate gift valued at $700,000 to establish a professorship at Mays Business School. The Sandra and P.G. "Buck" Eckels '52 Endowed Professorship funds the teaching, research, service and professional development activities of a Mays faculty member. Thompsons fund Mays scholarships Rebecca A. and Neal T. Thompson '66, of Bullard, have committed a $200,000 estate gift to fund endowed scholarships for Mays students. Their gift creates the Neal T. Thompson '66 and Rebecca A. Thompson Endowed Scholarship in Business. Bell establishes endowed scholarship Stanton P. Bell '54 has committed $80,000 to endow a scholarship for an undergraduate student studying at Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. His gift creates the Stanton F. Bell '29 President's Endowed Memorial Scholarship, in memory of his father and intended for Corps of Cadets students majoring in business. Clanton establishes faculty fellowship John W. Clanton '84 has committed $300,000 to endow a faculty fellowship at Mays. His gift creates the John W. Clanton '84 Endowed Faculty Fellowship to support the teaching, research and professional development of Mays faculty members. Reed establishes business scholarship Perry D. Reed '76, of Longview, has committed $25,000 to create an endowed scholarship for students at Mays. His scholarship gift, intended for finance majors with financial need, forms the Perry D. Reed '76 Endowed Scholarship. Caters Establish Faculty Fellowship Pamela M. and Barent W. Cater '77, of Kemah, have committed $300,000 to endow a faculty fellowship at Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. This gift, which creates the Pamela M. and Barent W. Cater '77 Faculty Fellowship, will support the teaching, research, service and professional development activities of a Mays Business School faculty member. UHY Mann Frankfort Stein & Lipp Establishes Scholarship Tax and business consulting firm UHY Mann Frankfort Stein & Lipp Advisors (UHY MFSL) recently committed a minimum of $50,000 for an endowed scholarship in accounting at Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. The firm's gift will specifically provide scholarships for students in the Professional Program at Mays. Speer Endows Faculty FellowshipJohn Speer, of Houston, has committed to endow the Carlton D. Stolle Faculty Fellowship in Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. Speer, Class of 1971, made the gift to support a faculty member in real estate education at Mays and in honor of Dr. Carlton Stolle, who has taught at Mays for 40 years. Zale's Gift Provides Aid for Under-represented Students Don and Barbara Zale and the Zale Foundation have pledged gifts totalling $100,000 for minority scholarships to benefit students of Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. The Zale gifts will establish Foundation Excellence Awards (FEA). Benjamins Establish Memorial Scholarship James and Carolyn Benjamin, of College Station, have established the Patricia Benjamin Memorial Scholarship in memory of his mother. The $25,000 endowment will be used to support full-time accounting students in Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. Houxes Establish Excellence Fund Debbie and Mike Houx '73 of Albuquerque, New Mexico, have established a $250,000 excellence fund that will benefit Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. This fund will be named the Debbie and Mike Houx '73 Learning Endowment and may be used in all areas of Mays' programs with preference given to those which address entrepreneurship and similarly related activities. Caldwells Endow Real Estate Excellence Fund Fred and Susan Caldwell, of Houston, Texas, have committed to endow the Wayne Etter Real Estate Excellence Fund in Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. The Caldwells, both members of the Class of 1982, made the gift to support real estate education at Mays and in honor of Dr. Wayne Etter, who has taught at Mays for 35 years. |
