Meeting PhD challenges head on
Do you remember your favorite college professor? One who taught you how to think critically, pursue excellence or challenge knowledge for the sake of expanding it? Developing such faculty members is the goal of PhD programs.
At Mays, we too are involved in the training and education of the next generation of faculty members. There are, however, unique challenges facing business PhD programs around the globe. Those challenges and the actions we are taking to counteract them are featured in this month's issue of Mays Business Online. These actions will insure that future generations of business students will have the opportunity to receive the same meaningful educational experiences you did.
In our cover story, we follow-up with four senior undergraduates who wrote about their freshman experience in Fish Chronicles in October and November 2001. Their stories might remind you of your own hope and excitement as your neared graduation.
I hope that you and your families had a joyous and restful holiday season. Please feel free to drop us a line or stop by for a visit if your travels bring you to College Station. In the meantime, please accept my most sincere wishes for a safe, healthy and prosperous 2005.
Best regards,
