An Exciting Year AheadThe fall is always an exciting time at Mays. This week, we welcomed the newest members of the Mays family: 1,100 members of the class of '08, 71 new MBA students, 49 new Executive MBA students, 337 new master’s students (including Professional Program), 20 new PhD students, and seven new faculty. While all of these numbers are impressive, the seven new faculty are just the beginning of a significant hiring initiative for Mays Business School. One that will increase our size from 105 tenure-track faculty to 132 tenure-track faculty over the next three years, as part of Texas A&M’s comprehensive faculty reinvestment program. These faculty will have a tremendous impact on everything we do at Mays, from the classes we offer to our incoming undergraduates, to our research that will investigate current and future issues facing the business world. In this issue of Mays Business Online, I invite you to read about Texas A&M University’s faculty reinvestment program and how it will affect future business education at Mays. I have no doubt the upcoming academic year will be another great one for Mays. And if you return to campus for a game this fall, I hope you'll stop by and visit us. |
