Measures of Our Success
People often ask me, "How do you measure your performance as a business school?" There are many ways. Some examples include: the quality and diversity of our incoming student body; the leadership positions our students assume on the Texas A&M campus; the recognition our programs are given through national publications and ranking agencies; the honors and awards our faculty receive; and the innovativeness of our curricula.
However, when boiled down to the basic measures of success, one factor stands above all else…the number and quality of career options our students have after graduation. In this issue of Mays Business Online, we feature the final installment of our "The Business of Business Schools" series. This story addresses how changes in the marketplace in recent years have impacted our career services staff and students.
This issue also highlights the newly created Aggie Honor System Office – an initiative created by President Gates to enforce the Aggie Honor Code – as well as how Mays incorporates ethics into our courses.
In the market research we conducted as part of our branding initiative two years ago, an important finding was that our graduates are recognized for possessing high integrity and a strong work ethic. These are important standards for all of our students to aspire toward as they begin and continue their careers.
I hope this summer finds you well. If your travels bring you to Aggieland, please stop by for a visit. @
