Mays MBA students finish second at international competition

Demonstrating quick thinking and superior presentation skills, a team of MBA students from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University won second place in the regional Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute’s Investment Research Challenge (IRC) in March. The event, held in New York City, pitted Mays students against 15 competing teams from some of the world’s top MBA programs, including Boston University, Marquette University, and several schools from Canada and Brazil.



Experts from Mays discuss financial crisis

A think tank comprised of faculty members from Mays Business School recently addressed a gathering of 160 Houston-area business people on the current economic crisis. “This is the first of what I hope will be many venues we will use to bring our faculty and their expertise to touch our former students,” said Dean Jerry Strawser. The panel featured eight speakers with different areas of financial expertise addressing the causes of the crisis, its scope, and potential solutions.



Transitions in leadership at Mays Business School

The spring semester will see a few changes in leadership at Mays Business School. David Blackwell, head of the Department of Finance and Republic Bank/James W. Aston Professor of Finance, will be stepping down as department head and taking on the roll of associate dean for graduate programs.
