11.07 Beth Sanders Moore ’77 was recently named Houston’s Outstanding Community Volunteer Fundraiser for 2007. The selection was based on Moore’s service: she has raised over $30 million for the arts, education and health care organizations throughout Texas over the last 15 years. She is most recently noted for her association with The Beth Sanders Moore Undiagnosed Breast Clinic and The Beth Sanders Moore Young Breast Cancer Survivors’ program, both of which are affiliated with M. D. Anderson. She is also involved in numerous other community organizations.

08.07 Gregory M. Cokinos ’79, BBA in management, was inducted into the American College of Construction Lawyers. The mission of the college is to improve and enhance the practice and understanding of construction law. Its mission is fulfilled through the election of Fellows distinguished by their skill, experience and high ethical standards in the practice or teaching of construction law. Cokinos is the first (and currently only) individual elected to the college from the Houston area. His firms, Cokinos, Bosein & Young, has offices in Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and San Antonio.

11.07 Steve Price ’87, BBA in marketing, has been named President of Sales and Marketing for Telemedicus, Inc., a medical communications company headquartered in Houston.

08.07 John Fraedrich ’83, PhD in marketing, was named the Bill Daniels Distinguished Professor of Business Ethics for the 2006-2007 year. One of the goals of the $1.2 billion Daniels Fund is to promote good business ethics within the U.S. Fraedrich returned to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale this summer, where he is the Jannetide Professor of Business Ethics.

06.07 Gregory P. Kendall ’88, BBA in finance with an emphasis in real estate, from Mobile, Alabama, received the Counselor of Real Estate designation. As a part of this prestigious group, Kendall will provide top-notch advisory services to clients on complex real estate matters. Kendall is currently senior vice president of Real Estate Research Corporation (RERC), and has spent his post-graduation years consulting and assisting developers, owners, management companies, investors, and lenders, as well as giving commercial real estate valuation. Kendall has worked as the co-director of RERC’s Hospitality Services and the RERC’s Gulf Coast office since 2004.

05.07 Jeff Hunt ’89, MBA, founder and president of Heritage Construction in Houston, was recognized recently as the National Association of Home Builders Certifed Graduate Remodeler of the Year for 2006. Hunt, who was also named the Greater Houston Builders Association’s Remodeler of the Year in 2005 and 2006, also holds a BS in building construction from Texas A&M. Reach Hunt at jeff@hcstx.com.

01.07 Dulcie Wink ’83, BBA in accounting, has been named to the board of the Houston West Chamber of Commerce. Wink is a partner at Haynes and Boone LLP, an international corporate law firm.

12.06 Barbara (Brunner) Pereira ’84, BBA accounting and master’s in land economics and real estate, has been named to start and lead CB Richard Ellis’ (CBRE’s) commercial real estate financing and mortgage brokerage business in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Pereira and her family will be relocating to the Madrid during 2007. CBRE is the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm, and the only firm in this industry to be named to the Fortune 500.

10.06 Jeffrey C. Zaruba ’86, BBA in accounting, is vice president of accounting and finance for Hydro Gulf of Mexico, LLC in Houston. Zaruba is also a 12-year member of the Century Club.

09.06 Bradford “Brad” P. Harwick ’86, BBA in marketing, joined Austin-based Bury + Partners, Inc., as the senior director of marketing. Harwick has 12 years management experience in marketing and strategic planning, most recently as the marketing and business development manager at Vinson & Elkins LLP.

08.07 Peggy Cunningham ’91, PhD in marketing, was promoted to full professor rank this summer at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She was also appointed director of the Corporate Social Responsibility Centre at the School of Business.

05.07 Ron Novak ’91, BBA in marketing, was recently named Director of Human Resources for the Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corporation in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. He celebrated 15 years with the company in 2007. Reach Novak at ron.novak@cox.net.

05.07 Hubert Glover ’92, PhD in accounting, was appointed this year to serve a three-year term as a member of the board of directors for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The AICPA is a national professional organization with more than 350,000 members dedicated to providing all CPAs with resources, information and leadership. 05.07 Traci Cook Lee ’98, BBA in management and information systems, was named one of the top five women in Houston under age 40 for her leadership and inspiration in spurring other Houstonians to become involved in the city’s charitable and civic organizations. She was recognized by Houston Modern Luxury Magazine and the Houston Opera, and was featured at the Houston Opera Ball in March 2007.

01.07 Robert J. Michlewicz, Jr. ’90, BBA in marketing, has been named president of Bowne & Co. Inc.’s southern region. Michlewicz will preside over 12 major markets including Dallas, Houston, Denver and Atlanta.

01.07 Kelly Parr ’90, BBA in accounting, was recognized as the Young CPA of the Year in Texas for 2005-2006 by the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Recipient requirements include being 39 years of age or younger, and having made significant contributions to the accounting profession and the community.

01.07 Scott Carter ’92, BBA in accounting, earned his M.D. and is now in the Department of Radiology at Eastern Virginia medical center. He will soon return to Texas in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Texas’ MD Anderson Cancer Center, the second largest radiology department in the world. There, he’ll be following the progress of thousands of cancer patients and performing interventional procedures.

01.07 Lynda Ruffino ’92, BBA in marketing, took second place at the Tinker Air Force Base XIV Annual Triathlon in the Women’s Open division.

01.07 Jeffrey Vincent ’93, BBA in accounting, has been named senior commercial relationship manager and senior vice president for Regions Bank in Fort Worth.

11.06 Matthew Mahone ’98, master’s in real estate ’01, joined RBC Capital Markets’ Real Estate Mortgage Captial division as vice president for Southwest Originations in October 2006. In his new position, Mahone is responsible for originating and analyzing commercial mortgage-backed securties loans on a broad range of income-producing property types for loan securitization throughout Texas. Mahone was previously a loan orginator for JP Morgan throughout the southwest. He also spent several years working with Deloitte & Touche’s financial advisory services division, focusing on real estate consulting.

06.07 Andy Dorobek ’04, BBA in finance, of Bedford, Texas; and Drew Jones ’05, BBA in finance, from Hutchins, Texas joined a group of about 30 Aggies on a construction project in Beiing, China. Aggies have teamed up with Zachry Construction to help build the American embassy in China.

10.06 Steve Olshewsky ’03, an accounting PhD graduate, joined the faculty of Temple University in Philadelphia. He says his Aggie education “ is regarded as an asset by administrators and colleagues here.”

10.06 Mary Kay Brammer ’05, an Executive MBA graduate, assumed the role of vice president for finance at PrimeWay Federal Credit Union after earning her EMBA degree and was recently promoted to chief financial officer. She is now a critical part of the credit union’s executive team.
